LB Shastri: The best PM India had!

It’s really saddening that people remember Oct 2 as Gandhi Jayanthi alone..seeming to forget the birthday of another visionary!!

In a world of mud slinging politics, the real men of honour have been buried somewhere in the old dusty files of an isolated government building.

Lal Bahadur Shastri was an epitome of honesty,simplicity and integrity in the world of Politics.The second PM of India was one of India’s most stellar,influential and valued politician ever!!

1)He as a transport minister was responsible for appointing woman conductors in RTC. It was his idea to use water jets than Lathi charge to disperse crowds

2)He as a Home minister was responsible for appointing the first of its kind “Prevention of Corruption” committee

3)His immediate resignation as the Railway Minister following rail accident in Mahabubnagar and TN set high standards for morality

4)He laid the foundations for White and Green revolutions in India

5)It was his moral support and encouragement that motivated and boosted confidence in Indian army to fight and win against Pakistan in 1965 after being defeated badly by China in 1962 “Jai Jawan Jai Kisan”

6)When the nation was in a state of famine he urged his countrymen to skip meal on Mondays ,only after he and his family tried it out first..it got positive response all over and was called “Shastri Vrat”

Till date his death remains one of the biggest mysteries in India..many conspiracy theories behind it 😔😔
