A new state is born!

June 2 2014...the day the dream of crores of people came true..😢😢❤️

One of the biggest movements in Indian History...the Telangana formation movement

A struggle that began more than 60 years back in the year 1955 when repeated appeals to retain Hyderabad as a seperate state went unheeded and instead was merged with the state of Andhra to form Andhra Pradesh through a 'false' Gentleman's agreement ....😔😓

The years followed with Telangana people accusing and grieving about the people of Andhra for colonising the region by grabbing their lands and jobs...no one paid any heed ☹️☹️

In 1969, one of the first seperate Telangana agitations arose where social groups, students and government employees took part in a battle with the government. The stir led to a tragic loss of 369 students who were killed in the police firing...no point,no step taken by Govt.

Politicians started taking this as a plus point in their election campaigns..making false promises in the name of 'Telangana' and playing with people's sentiments

However, K Chandrasekhar Rao's launch of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) intensified the push for Telangana movement..

All people were motivated to strive hard and struggle to any extent to achieve their long lasting dream..the state formation!! 💪💪 Hundreds of protests,thousands of deaths...all over only one slogan was heard.."Jai Telangana "!!🙏🏻🙏🏻

The centre was just like 🙈🙉🙊 all the time... it was sitting and enjoying all drama,very much underestimating the power of Telanganites

But when the man himself,KCR sat for a fast-unto-death,the centre was shaken and had to announce the formation of Telangana in 2009 ending the 11 day fast!!!! 😱🙏🏻🙏🏻

But the centre backtracked on its promise due to violent counter protests from Andhra's....little did they know that this move was going to be very fatal for them and they were to repent later 👿

With the Centre backing out on the issue..the battle came to an extreme stage..the people lost their patience..enough is enough they thought..Students,Teachers,Officers and all kinds of people came onto the roads..hundreds of suicides, strikes and disturbances to public life. This was the peak stage of the agitation..the whole country was literally shaken by the happenings !!!! 😡🔥🔥⚡️

Following the continuous agitations the Centre finally surrendered and agreed upon by passing a resolution,passing the bill,Approval of Prez in the next 2 years...

This paved way for the formation of the 29th state in Indian Union... Telangana was officially formed on 2 June 2014 with Hyderabad as its capital!!!! 💕💕
